Arrived in Tupelo

We’ve finally arrived in Tupelo. We drove from New Orleans this morning via Jo’s Diner in Flowood. We jumped off the interstates after Jo’s Diner to get some different scenery, we definitely got that!! Check out the PolarSteps post here.

Or plan is to go to Elvis’s Birthplace and home tomorrow before we head up to Nashville. It’s Sunday here today so things are pretty quiet around town. We did want to go to the Tupelo Hardware Company, where Elvis got his first guitar, but they are closed today and also tomorrow as it’s Labor Day. We swung by there anyway and also Fairpark where Elvis first performed as a 13 year old and then again in a homecoming in September 1956.

You can watch that 1956 performance below, just amazes me I can now stand in the same place as the King once again.
