Christmas Fun and Media

What a great year we’ve had at the museum in 2019 with visitors from all over the world. It’s been a challenging one for New Zealand though with a couple of heart wrenching events knocking us in March and December. Our thoughts continue to go out to the victims of the Mosque attack in Christchurch on March 15th, and to those impacted by the Whakaari/White Island eruption earlier this month.

Christmas Day is done for us here in New Zealand, a summer one at that, and we’re looking forward to the New Year. I got to spend Christmas Day with my family, under the watchful eye of Mount Taranaki, and got to see all of my grandchildren. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and my middle son did a great job on the BBQ!

We’ve managed to get a bit of media attention over the last week, my eldest son said it must have been a slow news day! On Christmas eve I spoke with Tim Dower on Newstalk ZB. You can listen to the audio of that interview here.

Then this morning we got a shout out on the Herald website as one of the best places to stop when in The ‘Naki (or the North Island!). But you all knew that already!! 😉

Have a great Christmas for those of you in a different time zone and for everyone, have a safe and enjoyable New Year.
